Exploration potential of LEFA

The figure below shows the highly prospectable nature of the Birimian rocks in the part of West Africa where LEFA is situated, with several highly profitable mines in the region.

LEFA Mine location West Africa: concessions extremely attractive

Within the total mining and exploration concession of approximately 2,550km², over 70% of the ground is Birimian geology coverage and less than 5% is drilled off. This makes the LEFA concessions extremely attractive in an extremely attractive region.

The figure below shows the location of the main exploration targets within the mining concession (red) and the exploration permit area on the east.

The high priority area for regional exploration in the short term is the Banora Diguile Bouremfe Corridor in the south that runs sub-parallel to the LEFA Corridor. The Banora Diguile Bouremfe Corridor is felt to have the potential for similar quantities of ore to the LEFA Corridor’s and exploration work has restarted on this area.

The skarn deposits Firifirini and Toume Toume are located in the north of the mining concession. The gold mineralisation is associated strongly with magnetite. Where the ore is close to the surface at Firifirini, therefore, the aeromag survey has produced magnetic anomalies. These are to be followed up in the short term with ground surveys that should be able to delineate the Toume Toume deposit better and pick up any further targets between Firifirini and Toume Toume.
